Dear Community,
This le• er and picture below from Alan & Francoise Morris
‘slipped through the net’ last month. Apologies - Ed.
Dear Community
We write in regards the outbreak of the bush fi re in the
region of Radiata Road and South Hampton Road on
Tuesday 19th February at about 14:45. Safe and sound,
having stayed, my wife and I give hearty thanks to the
air crews and ground crews from near and far who have
almost ex• nguished this fi re as I write. Our elevated house
loca• on has grand stand views of much of what unfolded
and it reminded us the horror of the Ellis Creek Planta• on
event of 12 March, 2012. It was clear then and it is clear
now that the fi re fi gh• ng organiza• on and skills of the
women and men involved are excellent. That said, some
lessons, we are sure, will be learned as the crisis is picked
over and the costs to be born roll in.
Sincerely
Alan and Francoise Morris
2615 Balingup-Nannup Road, Nannup, WA.

Dear Community,
On the morning of Friday
the 15th of March, forty
fi ve people, young and old
from various towns of the
south west marched through
Nannup.
The
march,
inspired
by
Swedish
school
student
Greta Thunberg was part of a global call for immediate
ac• on to address, what is widely considered, a climate
emergency. One hundred and fi ! y thousand Australian
students and 1.4 million globally in over 120 countries
took to the streets on this day.
The Nannup marchers were voicing their disapproval
with the current recklessly slow ac• on by socie• es in
addressing climate change. Individually and as a group
marchers pledged to take ac• on.
