tudents from Years K - 10 were very impressed with The
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre incursion. The performance
was based on Tim
Winton’s
novel
‘Blueback’.
The
choreography
and
miming was superb
and many students
par• cipated
in
workshops following
the performance.
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre Visits NDHS

n Wednesday 20 February our Year 10 students a! ended
a Youth Mental Health Forum held at Manjimup Senior
High School which involved a number of schools in our region.
The students were treated to a presenta• on by Amy Coombe,
an inspira• onal speaker who told her story dealing with her
own mental health. They learnt that one in four people their
age struggle at • mes with their mental health and how to
recognise signs of this in themselves and friends. They were
given informa• on on who and where to turn to for help –
trusted adults, friends and organisa• ons such as Kids Help
Line.
NDHS paid all the costs associated with this trip as we
recognise the importance of this informa• on for our youth.

students par• cipated in the Na• onal
Day of Ac• on against Bullying
and Violence. Students across the
school created hands with messages
about Bullying. Classes par• cipated
in conversa• ons and ac• vi• es to
promote a shared understanding
of Bullying as this is a good star• ng
point for eff ec• vely preven• ng
and responding to Bullying. Friday
was addi• onally the beginning of
Harmony Week and we wore orange
- as it signifi es social communica• on
and
meaningful
conversa• ons.
