Emu’s-ing Really
It could only happen in Nannup. Turning into a side
street in town I was surprised to be confronted by an
elonga• on (duster, scramble?) of emus. I counted twenty
in all, sauntering down the road. The old man had that
harassed look of a parent who had been put upon. I
gather he had shown great skill and care as a “mum” and
his mates had dumped their broods on him, poor sod.
I moved forward slowly so as not to cause distress and
was doing fi ne un• l I divided the group in two. Suddenly
the group on the le" realised they should join the group
to my right. Meanwhile the group on my right realised
their mates were to my le" . Thus began the crea• on
of an emu vortex which I was the hapless centre of. I
resembled nothing less than a rota• ng feather duster
with headlights. The old man emu looked on perplexed
not having any remedy in his backlog of ins• nctual
reac• ons to such an event. As any sensible male would
do he shrugged and headed for the nearest watering
spot. Fortunately, the whirlpool disintegrated and ran
off a" er him leaving me bemused and disappointed my
chrome work was no cleaner.
Cheers
