Nannup and I must say “Goodbye”
Once again, I must leave
I will NOT be there
So...

It is very hard to imagine Nannup
Without me, and me without Nannup

I’m sure you know it’s a special place
A place of water I’m told,
The Aborigines word for water 
was in fact Nannup,
But I will not be there

Life will carry on without me,
As it did for millions of years,
For the birds, bees and wildlife,
But I will not be there

Will it really matter?
Do they really care?
I’d like to think they will miss me,
At least, for the bird seed I gave

We think we are so special,
We, the top of the chain
But now I’m not so sure,
For I will not be there
